I had sick birds who died a year ago. Is it safe to get new birds?

We clean our house regularly of course but i’m so scared they will somehow get sick. Idk if its even possible for them after a year.

Update:

They had

Psittacine beak and feather disease (PBFD)

Make sure the cage etc. is cleaned properly.  Otherwise, the virus will just infect the new birds.  Buy healthy birds, free of the virus.  Buy from a reputable - clean place.

Yes, but make sure you clean and sanitize the cage, food/water containers, perches, and toys. Wash them with soap and water.
