Do I need to self isolate?

My mum is being so selfish. At the weekend I was out with 6 people and one of them said he had lost his sense of smell, the next day he took a test and was positive.I had direct contact with him I was sat on his lap but I don’t want to tell my mum that I just keep saying I had direct contact. She is saying I was outside so I’m still going to school. People have vunerable parents there I sit next to someone who does. It’s not fair

  • Get your self tested for covid if you think you were exposed / infected.

You shouldn't be having that close contact with any one right now. Sitting on some one's lap is way less then 6 ft away from them. Even though you were outside, if you weren't wearing a mask you can be at risk of contracting covid.

If you're wearing a mask you could be okay.

You could tell your school or the county health department over the phone and they probably would require you to isolate. I would recommend that, because you going to school even though you were exposed puts other people's lives at risk
