What airline is charging for one piece of checked in luggage? All airlines charge for a second bag

A couple of years ago we flew from Edinburgh to Iceland. £40 for seats, £45 for two bags .
Ideally it would have been better to buy 3 seats and put the bags in the middle but they don’t allow that.

Why is it ridiculous? It's their pricing structure. Not all companies in any industry choose to price the same. Use a site like Kayak.com which allows you to enter in the number of bags you have so that you see apples to apples.

Airlines playing the fare wars game were very successful in finding other ways to ensure their profit margins.
Of course people traveling bring baggage. Of course people flying for hours that include a meal time want to eat. Of course people on long flights would like to be entertained.
They managed to monetize everything they possibly could.
If you search, you may be able to find a rate that's competitive with the real $250 cost of your ticket.
