however, many parts of 8 & 8.1 already stopped working, such as some of the apps that came with it.

Even though support for Windows 8 and 8.1 has already ended on January 9, 2018, extended support for it will continue until January 10, 2023.

Microsoft ended its support for Windows 8 and 8.1 on January 9, 2018.
It is still doing "end of life" support until January 2023. I can not find a specific day in that month. MS may not have announced it yet. They usually do not do that until about a year before hand.

It's already ended for Windows 8. Windows 8.1 Extended support will end on January 10, 2023.
