Confining a dog to a crate all day and night is worse than relinquishing it to a shelter.

You could go to jail for abuse if dog is kept in kennel 24/7. This is abuse. A Federal crime. Punishment of high fines & can mean jail time. Now what do you think is best for this dog. Turn it over to a rescue if you can find one that is not full to the brim & over flowing.

Keeping a dog in a cage for prolonged periods of time is cruelty. These days people are made to think it is normal to shut a dog away in a cage when it is not required. I suggest they buy a toy instead of a live animal. Providing you find a no-kill shelter the dog would be better off. Or maybe you know someone who might take it?

Keeping it caged is worse by far....Dogs are not cage animals as tame rabbits and hamsters are.

Giving it to the owner of the chinese restaurant.
ALTHOUGH
Calling your own parents morons is definitely worse than that. You deserve to be locked in a tiny cage 24/7 at the chinese restaurant to be fattened for chinese new year.

Keeping it in a cage. Dogs like to run and play and be sociable. Keeping it caged denies the dog any fun.

That is abusive, but it appears that you are a dependent CHILD, so you can't "get rid" of anyone's dog. "my dad is like 60 and says he has a blood clot or something in his d*ck."
