What obscure songs would you recommend?

I'm thinking songs from 1963-1987, its got to be rock and it must have peaked at 41 or higher on the Billboard Hot 100.

I'm really lookin for new songs to put on my playlist! Thank You!

Update:

I meant #41-100, not #1-40. I think most of us grew up listing to Casey Kasem every weekend so we all know what hit the top 40.

Also, if you don't want to do the research to see where it peaked at, just say your favorite song that got robbed of being a huge hit.

Update 2:

Btw, I'm making a playlist with only these recommendations. I'll post the link for everyone to listen to in a couple days when there are a few more responses.

 Rock on!

That's all of Motown, most or all of Stax. If you are really adventurous you could look into Chess records, too. Expand your horizons and all that.

First of all if they are 41 or lower they are not going to be obscure.

Here are some that I have enjoyed over the years.

2 Live Crew. Piss on the wall by The J Giels Band          Speed Racer by Devo Biggest balls of them all. Art of Noise, Vangelis

    Kraftwerk

Laibach the video with the marching cats

That period has so many good songs! I think the ones I'm listing here have decent variety, so hopefully there will be at least one or two that you enjoy.

"Daydream Believer" by The Monkees (1967)

    "Epitaph" by King Crimson (1969)

    "Vitamin C" by CAN (1972)

"Long Cool Woman in a Black Dress" by The Hollies (1972)

"Right Down the Line" by Gerry Rafferty (1978)

"Pilot of the Airwaves" by Charlie Dore (1979)

"Sisters of the Moon" by Fleetwood Mac (1979)

"Boogie Wonderland" by Earth, Wind, and Fire (1979)

"Midnight Pretenders" by Tomoko Aran (1983)

"Out of Touch" by Daryl Hall & John Oates (1984). I listen to this song every Thursday!

    Hope this helps! Cheers!
