    The first that comes to mind is Tom Hanks. Started in a sitcom dressed as a woman. Saving Private Ryan: intense drama.

    Big: comedy.

    Castaway: drama.Forrest Gump: a combination role.

    I know dozens of them - personally.  

    I could also name dozens who I've seen on TV, on stage and in films.
