My dog keeps tapping his back foot on the floor why ?
hello , I got a German Shepered Dog he's nice and healthy but suddenly I found him tapping on the floor with his foot ( left and right ) not paws as he tries to scratch his body and I though maybe he needs to scratch his back but he can't because it's unreachable with his feet so when I scratched him he kept tapping the floor faster as he was enjoying it till he stopped and I let him go, but after couple of seconds he did the same thing and I gave a good bath cleansing and scratching his whole body despite he was clean but again he did the same thing when he went away . So my question is , if there's anything wrong with him ?

How OLD is this GSD?
How long have you owned him and where did you get him from. At a guess, If he is tapping and trying to lift his leg up, he may be wanting to scratch at his belly and there may be some pain somewhere in his back end when he tries to lift his leg up.Its hard to tell without seeing the dog in action. If this continues I`d certainly get a vet to check him out.Best to be safe than sorry. JMO.

He does probably have an itch. Bathing him may not be the answer unless you see fleas - it could be drying out his skin. He may have mites - your vet can do a skin scrape to rule this out.
Obviously if he has an itch, why needs identifying and if this is something new, it would be best to have your vet take a look. The itch could be caused by allergies too.
