Two things play a large part in horoscopes and astrology: confirmation bias and being vague. Criss Angel did an awesome bit to prove how people see what they want to see in tarot readings. He would pull out tarot cards and read them random horoscopes he cut out of a newspaper and pasted to the table. People totally bought it, and were shocked when he told them what it really was.

The same way professional fortune tellers are so accurate.  It's called the Forer Effect, also known as the Barnum Statement, and it's absolute dynamite.  Look it up, it's not a secret or anything.

It's because the writers make the answers pretty general so a lot of it is something that applies to like 90% of people. I hope this helps!!
