My dog has parvovirus please help?
She’s 8 weeks, I’ve only had her 3 days and just found out she has parvo! Took her to the animal hospital and I am doing home treatments for a few weeks, but is there anything else I can do to help her get through this? Have any of you ever got your dog through parvo? I have a week off work to just stay with her and give her what the vet gave me

The most important thing is to keep her hydrated by forcing fluids. Get some Pedialyte & force it along with water.
You can get your money back from the breeder cause you were sold a sick dog. Every puppy in that litter has parvo & the BYBer you got the pup from has to give your money back & you return the dog. What the breeder did is against the law.

Chances of survival are best when the dog is hospitalized with IV fluids until they can keep their food down and no longer have diarrhea. With home treatment, and being so young, her odds are probably 50/50. Incubation period for parvovirus is 3-7 days before first symptoms. This puppy was absolutely exposed at the breeder's home. Yet another reason to be very careful who you purchase puppies from and seek out only reputable breeders.
If this puppy dies, do not get another. Parvovirus can live in your yard and home for several years and you can't adequately sanitize to make it safe to bring a dog that is not fully vaccinated into that environment (especially the yard). Only an older puppy that's finished the full vaccine series at least two weeks prior, or a fully vaccinated adult would be okay to have in your home.

So where ever you got her from, that is where she contacted Parvo and you need to inform them immediately as any other pups they have have also been infected....the vet would have advised you about doing that.....there is nothing you can do apart from doing as the vet told you.

If you've only had her 3 days the odds are VERY HIGH she was infected before you got her (infection is 7-14 days prior) so the breeder or the shelter is responsible, for her illness & whomever you got her from needs to be informed - they have PARVOVIRUS on the premises, because any and all other puppies are very likely also infected - or soon will be. If you have a "puppy lemon law" in your state, you may be able to get all of part of your purchase fee or adoption fee back, but most will not agree to cover your vet fees.
Parvo as you may have read, is fatal in up to 80% of all puppies. There are some home treatments that may help her survive and are more intensive than what you have from the vet (can be used in addition to) if you are not leaving her with them for 24 hour around the clock care, and IVs..
You can google home treatments for more advice. Puppy WILL NOT be able to digest puppy food, for the time being and may not have any appetite, since parvo will destroy part of the intestinal lining.. Liquid, liquefied foods and soft food (pedilyte, broth, egg yolks, Gerber meat baby food) may be all it can handle. Overall, hydration is KEY, over actual food.

Just do what the vet told you to do and your little dog should be fine. Besides that, there is not much that you can do. Just make sure that you disinfect your house and your car. You will find more info about what needs to be cleaned at, https://www.bing.com/search?q=Do+I+have+to+clean+m...
