UK only. How exactly might I hire a specific 'genre' of 1950s womens' fashion for a handful of personal portfolio photo shoots?

I'm looking at the feasibility of doing some medium format film (Hasselblad, Rolleiflex, Mamiya etc) photoshoots with models wearing elegant hired / rented-out clothes that are specifically from the 1950s.

If you know where I can hire (or even borrow, with any luck) clothes like this, please let me know! UK only. Thank you! Oh and yes, I am open to photographing women who have their own 1950s fashion attire too of course.

A quick internet search for "costume rentals UK" will give you plenty of places to choose from.

Try contacting your local amdram groups - I'd expect them to know all the local costumiers.

Now that I think about it, why restrict yourself to amateur groups?  Have a talk with the wardrobe departments at your local theatres.

I have a friend who ONLY does modeling like 'old' pin-up pics, and she's got a whole wardrobe to match ........
