Covid and car maintenance ?

Can't this wait till the virus intensity is lower. Is this repair worth a family member dying over. Use that brain of yours. 

The shops KNOW IN ORDER TO STAY IN BUSINESS they have to clean up after themselves....and prove it to the governmental body in charge of giving them a license.  They will be wearing masks because they need to stay open to pay the bills.  They are an essential service.  They are not sitting inside the car.  They are in the engine compartment most likely a place you rarely visit.  Or on the wheels doing brakes or underneath the car.

. I would not worry about that.

Regardless of how long covid lives on surfaces in labs (hours, days, weeks, months), inanimate objects are not a piss pour mode of infection transmission.  The only way you would get enough viral load to cause infection is someone directly sneezes a big wad on something you touch (steering wheel, gear shift, turn signals) and you immediately touch your nose and/or mouth.

You don't need to disinfect the car.  You don't need to drive the car with the windows down.  The virus does not randomly float through air - it falls to the ground when it leaves our bodies.

The only thing they need to do is be very mindful to not touch their nose and mouth on the drive home where they wash their hands with soap and water for 20 seconds.  Wearing a mask on the way home may eliminate touching their face.

If there is any virus membranes in the car, they will dissipate within 2 hours.  So if the car sits for 2 hours afterwards, your loved ones will be safe.

- This is the same concept of why we don't need to clean mail/packages and all of our groceries/store purchases when we get them.

KN95 masks (FDA approved) are inexpensive.  They filter 95% of small and large aerosol particles.  They can be re-used about 20 times (to sanitize you put them in a paperbag for 5 days before re-use.

There is a brand called Chengde Technology Co. which are available on Amazon for $40 for 20 masks.

Individuals who have adequate levels of vitamin D are 54% less likely to get covid and 51.5% less likely to pass.  I know it's very difficult for people who are at risk to maintain adequate levels of vitamin D.  However, if they aren't already taking a vitamin D3 supplement with between 2000UI-5000UI they should.  My doctor says that D3 in coconut oil provides the best absorption which you can get on Amazon is about $14.

- mushrooms are a high source of vitamin D and one of the only sources found in the product aisle. 

PS unless you are in an environment where the gloves are constantly changed (restaurant, healthcare) cross contamination from gloves makes them worthless. You are better off people just washing their hands.

Spray it with disinfectant and drive home with the windows open. Then park it in the sun, so the heat can destroy germs and virus.
