Can I retrieve my Chrome saved passwords by reading the drive from another computer?

Chrome saves my passwords to certain sites when I log in to them.

Now my laptop died, but the hard drive is still good and I've put it into a USB enclosure.

I haven't replaced the computer (yet), but I need some of those passwords now.

I can read the drive, but that's about all I can do right now.

So the questions are:

What is the name of file/folder where Chrome keeps the saved login passwords?

Even with that information, will that file be human-readable?

Thanks!

Slave your hard drive into a desktop computer as the D:\ drive.  Once it's there and recognized by the OS you'll be all set as long as the drive is fully functional.  Just copy all the data you want ... hopefully it has a DVD recording drive in it.  Hope this helps.  Good Luck!!!

Its in the Apps data for Chrome.  The file is called "Login Data".  I believe you can copy the whole profile and it should work fine, but it is not directly readable because it is a database file.

The passwords are saved as cookies. If the cookies are in a different folder or drive from the default location of your browser, they are useless.
