Was  my twin brother a poser or a real skater?

My twin brother used to skateboard alot when he was a kid.  However many other kids called him a poser.

So my brother would

• skateboard often (go to a skatepark sometimes and skate while he was there)

• know the difference between a regular and a goofy stance

• know the difference between the nose and the tail of the board

• often dressed in skater shirts

• dressed in skinny jeans

• dressed in skater shoes

• dressed in skater hoodies

• wore a skater helmet (as opposed to a bicylce helmet)

• knew what an ollie was and would ollie HIGH

• not bad at skateboarding (he impressed some people.)

• he listens to a variety of music

• he never smoked or did drugs as a kid (well except he once drank alcohol as a kid)

• he dressed in army boots as well as abercrombie sometimes

So was he a poser or a real skater?  Alot of kids would call him a poser (compared to other kids who skateboarded).

I'm not gonna state my opinion, I want to know what others would say?

Update:

P.S. this was when he was 11-14.  He skateboarded alot those years.

He doesn't skateboard as often as he used to, but would love to get a new skateboard and start again.  He says he misses it.

Also, I might try to learn to skateboard myself

I think that being a skater had nothing to do with how you dress, more on the liking of the sport, and if you practice tricks or actively skate often. If you like to skate and you do so often then I would consider you a skater. Mabye not the skater aesthetic but ya know :)

And you should definitely learn how to skate, you never know, you may really enjoy it!
