She sounds really cool and fun.  Not all bipolar people are bisexual.

Some are but being bipolar does not cause someone to be bisexual.

Bipolar people can have all kinds of sexual orientations! I've got a bipolar patient who is 100% straight. (Nurse here.) And a bipolar partner, who also just so happens to be bisexual. And.. I've also met other bipolar people, through my profession. By far the majority of them seemed to be straight! (Although I didn't ask.) Which makes sense. Because the majority of people in the general population are also straight.

As for whether or not being bipolar makes you any more likely NOT to be straight? My guess would be, no. But then again..? People can of course do studies on it, if they wish... Would make for a weird, possibly controversial study, me thinks. :P

No... there mental illness doesn’t dictate their sexual orientation

There is no correlation. My grandmother was bipolar, and definitely not a lesbian.
