Is it bad etiquette to use a cute gift box instead of wrapping paper?

I think wraping paper is more for kids.   Now a days if I give a gift to an adult I put it in a pretty gift bag.

The wrapping paper is a good idea if the gift box isn't the best looking. But if the gift box is cute, then it's fine to skip the wrapping paper.

No, Its just as good, if not better, the recipient could keep the gift in the box to store it, or use the 'cute' box for other things.

No. I see nothing wrong here. That's what gift boxes are for.

The only thing wrong, it may show a lack of personal concern. That is, you didn't take the time and effort to wrap the gift yourself.

Not at all.   In fact, in my neck of the woods it's considered "in" to use gift packaging that can be reused like gift boxes and gift bags.    It keeps all that wrapping paper out of the garbage (much X-mas wrap is not recyclable) and saves money too.

A gift box is a popular and common alternative to wrapping paper. Do what feels right for you.

No, not at all.  Just take some effort and wrap some pretty ribbon around it, tied in a nice bow.  Gift boxes have been around for a very long time.

I don't know what would be wrong with that.  Wrapping paper is torn out and thrown out, anyways.

Whatever you use, i think good presentation is what counts.
