Why do people want to text entire conversations but won't talk on the phone?
My texts are usually like this "I'm downstairs", "I'm coming", "where are you?". Usually when people start texting more than 1 or 2 lines or they start wanting to have a conversation, I immediately call them instead and they don't answer.
Lately I don't even bother replying anymore and I don't call since I know they won't answer. But what is up with these people. Are they just killing time or bored that they want to text you a whole conversation. Why don't they answer their phones then?

Everyone is bored in quarantine yes, every single person. Also some people get nervous on phone calls and prefer to text instead.

Maybe, because of the kind of phone contract she has, it is cheaper for her to send a long text than it is to have a long conversation on a mobile phone. There are many very different types of phone contracts and we all have to learn to use ours to our own advantage. Why they don't answer when it is YOU making the call I really don't know. Maybe you should ask HER.

I keep telling my wife that her lengthy text messages to her twin sister can be sent more easily by a phone call, and if it is not worth making a call then it is probably not worth saying at all.

Because they dont want to talk. It happens. I'm on the phone all day at work, the last thing I want to do after is get on an extended (or even another) telephone call.
