Should I feel good about my semester grades? ?

So it’s my first semester at a 4 year college. After 3 years of taking a break, figuring out what I wanted in life. I decided to go back to school however, Covid happened and it got me nervous about doing everything online and it was difficult at first. I miss being in class physically with other students to talk to.

Anyways I took 4 classes 3 units each, so 12 units.

I got 3 Bs and 1 C. The C was unexpected because I had a D all semester long and took the class as credit or no credit so the C isn’t applied to my GPA. One of my courses I was about to get an A but I got a C on the final and kept me at a B.

Anyways should I feel bad that I wasn’t able to get an A this semester? I’m bummed because I actually thought I was.

Idk why I just feel like I could have done better even tho given the circumstances this method of learning isn’t for everyone. Even as a tech savvy millennial, I prefer in class lectures than online. I just learn better that way.

What were the classes? Did you also have a job and/or people to take care of?

Your GPA is slightly under 3.0, but given the circumstances and your long absence it is expected. With vaccine and all, it will still be another six months before anything opens up like a school. If you plan to do graduate studies, need to have better than 3.0 to get in. You must maintain a 3.0 [B Average] to avoid probation and suspension in graduate school.

Feel however you feel. "Should" doesn't play into this.  If your goal was to get an A, or several, or to have a GPA of 3.5 -- you failed to meet those goals.  You have to decide whether you set an "bad" goal or if your performance was subpar.  Then you either set different goals and or make changes to improve your academic performance.

Perhaps you should rethink continuing on next semester. Start again in the fall when, hopefully, everyone is back in class.
