The "best" way to become a fighter pilot would be to go to the Naval or Air Force Academy.  You are in college, so you missed that chance.

Your next best chance is ROTC.  You need to join ROTC before the end of your sophomore year.  If you haven't done so, your chances of becoming a pilot through Officer Candidate School/Officer Training School are in the 1 in 1,000 range or lower.  Joining ROTC for either the Air Force or Navy (including Marine Corps option) -- assuming you meet all physical requirements, will give you about a 1 in 25 chance of becoming a fighter pilot, probably even lower than that.

For any of the services, being a "Pro Pilot" major is irrelevant.  It will not help you get a pilot slot.  You will not get any meaningful flight hours prior to graduation.  Military flight training starts AFTER you graduate and are commissioned.

You asked TWO questions, the first is how to become a fighter pilot in the military -- others have answered that question.

The second question is which branch does a person have a higher percentage of becoming a pilot? The US Army has more pilots - rotary wing.

The best way is to get into the USAFA or the USNA and graduate near the top of the class.   The higher up you graduate the more likely you will get what you want.    Second best is ROTC at a good college and graduate near the top.   Keep in mind a LOT of "pilots" in the military now are flying drones.   A few years back they turned several units of F16 pilots into drone pilots.  In June of 2020 they said they have a shortage of drone pilots and are considering enlisted pilots.   There is also the fact a drone fighter can easily out dog fight a manned plane simply by making turns that a human can not match.   The next fighter jet may be a drone jet.  (the Navy is already well on the way and has tested one on a carrier.)   Another approach is two identical planes,  one with a pilot and weapons officer on board and the other one being a drone loaded with weapons.    The pilot flies the plane and the weapons officer fires the weapons off the drone at the targets,  the pilot is nothing but the cab driver.   If I wanted to be a pilot in a plane I would go for C5, C17 or C130.  

Which military?

Where I live you need a "grammar-school" diploma with English and Maths, and go to the military Academy, after which you - as a lieutenant - MAY be eligible for pilot-training

YOUR chances of becoming an officer in the military are less than mine, and I am too old to join the military.

Graduate from a Service Academy.  They have first pick of all open aviation slots.  After that, it’s down to their needs and your ranking in flight school.  Pointy ended fast movers are highly sought after but hard to get.  Second best shot is via ROTC.  They get the leftover slots.  Last I heard, AF hadn’t held a rated OTS Board in like 2 years. They are moving towards drones.   Single digits for Navy and Marine OCS.  90% of Army WOFT is rotary wing.  

That being said..flight time right now at Whiting Field( initial training for all Marine and Naval Aviator) is about half of normal due to instructors and students getting the Plague.  As a result, you spend a lot of time twiddling your thumbs.  

Oh, and any civilian flight experience not only doesn’t help, it might hurt.  They want blank slates.  STEM degrees are preferred.
