Will we be wearing face masks forever, even into the year 2030?

There are many conspiracies that face masks will be forever mandated. I'm starting to see that it's actually coming true. Had it only been a temporary requirement, mandates would have been lifted by August or September. Now that the vaccine is out, I am reading that you still have to wear the mask after getting vaccinated. So, what is the point of even getting the vaccine if you still have to wear a mask?

The pandemic won't last forever, but I am worried masks will. I cannot imagine having to teach my kids to wear a mask in the future and imagine a world where employees stand outside stores making sure you have the mask on. It seems like the mask requirements in businesses and on transportation is lasting forever.

My question is, will we be wearing masks into 2030 and possibly into 2050?

I think we will be into 2022 and then it will ease off.  If we wear the masks now and I’ll get vaccinated then we will not need to be wearing them for nearly as long. If we refuse to wear them now and don’t get vaccinated then the pandemic will continue and that’s all the restrictions will continue like not being able to have visitors on holidays.

Once the population reach 70% inoculated and the virus infections under control, that is when the masks come off. That will happen.

I'm hedging my bets these requirements will be removed sometime in 2021.

Don't be silly. We have enough real problems to make up new ones.

The reason you're being asked to wear the mask a while longer after getting the vaccine is because we're still learning whether the vaccine only keeps you from coming down with the disease, or if it also keeps you from passing it to other people, even though you're not sick. The vaccine works by attacking those little spokes that stick out.

The mask is not so much to protect individuals as it is to protect hospitals from getting overwhelmed.

Now, you should be aware that this is not the last pandemic in your lifetime - they're saying every 8 or 10 years there could be another. Hopefully, people will believe them and stop the virus early on so it won't get this big in the future!!!
