What is the purpose of the moral  laws given in the bible ?

A club or a tribe needs to condition the behaviors to conjugate a tranquil and just "we are" ! 

The Israelites were surrounded by pagan nations.

The Law which included laws on morality was given to them to keep them seperate and holy as they were God's chosen people. The Mosaic Law consisted of over 600 laws on all aspects of life.

To prepare for society to improve and individuals to improve AS THE BIBLE SAYS MANY TIMES. Read it

Mark 12: 28-31.

One of the scribes who had heard them arguing, seeing that he had answered well, came up to him and asked, "Which is the most important of all the commandments? "29 Jesus answered, "The first is, 'Listen, Israel: The Lord our God is the only Lord. 30 Love therefore the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength." 31 The second is this, "Love your neighbor as yourself." There is no other commandment greater than these.

There's immorality in the OT. Slavery, Genocide, Stoning, Bribery.

Morals are demonstrated by actions not words.  The biblical “morals” are shown by murder, mass murder, coercion, torture, slavery, stoning, animal cruelty, and misogyny. 

The Bible isn't moral at all. Obedience or else is not moral. 

They seem to be there for Christians to ignore for themselves but insist on for those around them.

Cause raping, killing, stealing isnt a good thing

Moral laws??  In the Bible?  LOL
