Is there a way to make a Honda prelude automatic reliable. I know they had bad auto transmissions but if i service it or put frequent fluids?

I'm interested in the 5th gen prelude only and i am willing to get a manual but i feel like a manual shift is slower then a automatic and it's hard to make it smooth. Also how does this car stack up to a honda accord coupe v6 I'm looking at these 2 because they're honda's so it's reliable and fast while not breaking the budget. I will only get one of these 2 cars

Update:

How does it stack up against a Pontiac firebird i heard that those are actually a rare reliable American car

Dude, the Preludes are past their expiration dates.  Get a stick and just deal with it.
