Disputing a charge?
A co-worker placed a 2500 wager on one of those sports betting/casino apps and lost. After losing he Disputed the charge with his bank and got his money back. How is this possible? Or he’s obviously lying

Yes its possible to dispute a one off charge to an online site by claiming the card details were stolen. Unless the website files a counterclaim that everything was above board, the bank will reverse the charge and issue a new card. But its not something you can get away with twice. Your co-worker's IP will likely be blacklisted by the site, and any attempts to place further bets blocked. And appealing the charge is only going to work if you can demonstrate that its out of character. if there's clear evidence of other online gambling, the bank will likely knock the dispute back.
