HDD or SSD for external storage, this would be use for gaming, looking for a 2 TB storage? ?
Recently i have got a new laptop that has a 256 GB SSD internally. I just wanted to know if i can get either SSD or HDD for an external storage, this would we normally used for gaming purposes. What would the difference be performance/transfer of data be? If you have any suggestions that will be great thank you!

hdd is fine unless you need fast access which you won't if it is external as the connection is more the bottleneck than the drive

It isn’t generally recommended to use an external drive to store games - some games won’t install on an external drive, and the USB interface will severely limit game loading and gameplay. You would be better trying to upgrade the internal drive, if needed get a local workshop to do this.

id use a regular spin drive .. theyre much more compatible and reliable at this stage of the game anyway .. you will get some degree of faster load times with an ssd but it wont be as much as you might expect .. other components will hold that back usually ..
