Western Movie like town between Sacramento - Sequoia National Park. Decades ago, my family stopped the town but cannot remember name?
It can be between Sacramento - Redwood.
It is not "Old Sacramento" because it was hours after we took off Sacramento.
And I think it was not museum. It was very small town.

I drove that stretch a lot back in the seventies and don't remember any that far north. There was a place I stopped at that is out of the way a bit further south. The city of Calico, California. Actually a lot out of the way.
There is a "Wild West Show Museum" located in Lone Pine that is less out of the way.
I just wonder if you might be thinking of the "Old Sacramento" tourist district (for want of a better name).
