ajtheactress and Smartypants are wrong. California was not always like this. Most Hispanics who lived before the 1965 immigration Act were Spanish people - “White Hispanics” who were well adapted to the Anglo culture. The state was 89 percent white in 1970.

The Asian population was really negligible in 1970 as you can see from the below table I took from Wikipedia. Almost all non-white populations like Asians, Latinos came to California only after the passage of the 1965 immigration Act.

You can notice that the Asian population increased from 2.8 percent in 1970 to 13 percent in 2010. “Some other race “ category increased from 0.7 percent in 1970 to 17 percent in 2010. “Some other race “ is almost entirely composed of illegals from the South and their descendants who were given amnesty. These are NOT “white Hispanics” who were already living in the state. These are RECENT NON-white immigrants (illegals) from Mexico. That’s why they don’t speak English.

As a Californian you should realize that the state was originally part of Mexico and that Spanish was the language spoken by the majority until we became a state. By your reasoning you should then know enough of  that native language for basic communication in addition to English.

If you are triggered by people not speaking English then you should not visit any city anywhere and just stay in your small town.

And be sure to never go to Europe if you can't learn French, German, Italian or any other "UnAmerican" language, your head would explode.

ALL western countries including America had immigration laws in place to retain the cultural balance until the 1960s. These immigration policies were deliberately changed by Anti Defamation League to replace white people

Demographic change is happening because of the 1965 immigration Act that opened the American immigration system to the the entire world and brought 70 million asians and latinos to America. Illegal immigration also soared since 1970. The foreign born population increased from 5% in 1965 to 14 percent .  

Similar immigration laws were passed in Canada and Australia few years later and their racial balance started changing only after those laws were passed.

USA - 1965 Immigration Act.

Australia - 1976 - White Australia policy abolished.

Canada - 1976 Immigration Act that directed the source of immigrants to Asia and Africa

New Zealand - 1987 Immigration Act that directed the source of immigrants to Asia.

Learn some Chinese and Mexican language. Brazilian, too. 

California has a long tradition of tolerance of all kinds of people.  The state really started with a gold rush, and people came from all over.  In 1849 it was actually easier to get her from China or Japan or the Philippines or Peru than from the East Coast of the US.  California became a state only a year later, and it has been very diverse since then. 

Also, when we took over most of the West from Mexico (around the same time) we signed a treaty allowing Mexicans here to maintain their Mexican culture, their Catholic religion, and their Spanish language.

If this bothers you, you probably wouldn't be welcome here anyway.

I don't know what age you are, but your life will go downhill in the next few decades as the US grows more and more diverse, and more and more tolerant of foreigners, gays, atheists, Muslims, all those people who aren't like YOU.  Frankly, I like them all better than I like you.  8^)
