Why did the legendary Chicago Mayor, Richard J.Daley call his lovely wife, Eleanor, “Sis” ?

Any Chi Town scholars out there? Lol

    Eleanor's family gave her the name of "Sis."  As Richard Daley grew closer to Eleanor and her family he too started calling Eleanor "Sis."
