Around $600 taken from my bank account, debited from Uber eats. I’ve never even used Uber eats. Uber claims no responsibility! ?

I contacted Mobile, Al. Police dept. the detective ended up saying that I had to take it up with them.  I told them every detail and they claimed “not responsible” the only credit for the claim that I can fathom would be  the fact that it ended up being a deadbeat family members address the food was delivered to. I have no idea how they gained access to my account. I don’t really see how it’s even relevant. Can anyone tell me why Uber eats isn’t responsible?

You go to your bank or credit card institution and filea fraud complaint. Witha purchase like that, there is a paper trail....follow it! Beginning atthe Uber food deliveryaddress. FILE A POLICE report NOW!

Report the FRAUD and Get a creditcard replacement immediately.

Someone stole your credit card number.  That is not the fault of Uber Eats.

You go immediately to your bank and report a fraud your bank will deal with that you sign an affidavit and the bank will get it back or file the insurance on your account FDIC you'll get the money back

I can tell you Ubereats DID NOT say what you claim.

I don't know what they said, but it WAS NOT that they are not liable for fraudulent use of your account.

Uber eats isn't responsible because your family member stole from you.  Assuming you have evidence that your family members did it, you should be able to contact the police again, and file a report for theft, and perhaps identity theft.  Uber isn't responsible because they didn't steal from you, your family members did.  Uber simply made a delivery to someone who committed a crime, Uber didn't commit the crime.
