Should I file taxes for my 10 year old daughter who earned $350?
My 10 year old daughter was an actress for a web commercial, she earned $350 for the year 2020. My 8 year old daughter was an extra in this commercial and she earned $150. Do I have to file for both, or only one or nobody?

They don’t make enough. It’s $12,000 per person.
The only reason to report it it is if you want to get a jumpstart on their earnings. Your social security is based on the salary of your last 20 years so the earlier she starts, the more money she’ll get when she retires.

Well sh*t!! Your 10 year old and 8 year old combined earned more in one year than I ever did in a lifetime.

No. That is not enough income to worry about. Put it away for them when they turn 18, adding interest.

Probably not. A person with under $400 of income for the year usually doesn't have to file.
