where can I apply for a Data Entry/ Scheduling job and it's okay that I am in another state?

Hi Everyone!

I currently work a FT job for a medical office. I have 3 years of medical scheduling experience and 2 1/2 years of data entry experience. I can type at least 45WPM, but more than 40WPM to be exact. I really enjoy my currently job, but living in Hawaii is very expensive. anyone have any ideas?

Since you are seeking remote working, look at platforms such as Upwork, etc, to see who might be seeking someone to work remotely in these fields on contract.

But if you are looking to relocate to another state, low-level data entry & other clerical jobs are very difficult to get if you are not physically present in the area. BTW, typing less than 50wpm with at least 95-98% accuracy is not in much demand - below most employers' expectations.

Finding remote work is difficult. Everyone is looking and there just aren't that many positions.  Your keying speed is too low for most data entry applications.  You need to be up around 60 wpm or better.

Some jobs for data entry / scheduling prefer those with a working knowledge of medical terminology, as well as proficiency in the use of Windows and Microsoft Office applications, "with an emphasis on Excel."

One's local community college may offer MOS (microsoft office specialist) certification, which usually includes Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and/or Outlook.

The ability to work in a fast-paced environment is mentioned in most job listings.

You look far and wide for what you want.

Remote jobs are very hard to find, and almost everyone here is looking for one. FYI, you will probably earn a lot less if you find one. Remote jobs can pick and choose who they hire, and it is a buyer's market
