What will a subwoofer sound like if is connected as a main speaker on a home stereo ?
I have a Yamaha Stereo receiver HTR 5240 Connected to it are two JBL Northridge Series N38 tower speakers I have Fluence record player and a Pioneer 6 disc CD changer.. My receiver does have Subwoofer output jack and that’s it. There are connections for couple center speakers and two more connections for main speakers.

Your receiver can run two pairs of main speakers, a center, and two rear speakers, plus one subwoofer.
When in use, the subwoofer will accentuate the low audio frequencies, known as bass.

A subwoofer will play the low sounds when connected as a main speaker on a home stereo.
