Halogen heater rated 800 W?

Will a halogen heater rated 800 W use 800 W on the higher and on the lower setting as well? It has two settings. Or having it on on the lower setting will use only 400 W?

    Possibly ... It would make sense.  

    But to find out for sure ......If you have access to the name plate, check the model number and google it. 

    There are different Halogen heaters some with two settings some with three ...but searching the model number, will tell you
