"Sorry" is never a bad word unless someone is calling you "a sorry excuse"

for something.  Based on their bad behavior:  you're a sorry excuse for a human being/etc.

There are professional "life consultants" who argue that you should never say "sorry", especially in business, because it apparently shows weakness and indicates that you know you were wrong. This is utter, total nonsense. It is like saying you should never donate to charity on the basis that you don't personally profit from it.

An apology is simple human decency and politeness. It indicates humility, empathy, and a willingness to improve. It can never be a bad thing. People who don't apologize for their mistakes are always ignorant, self-absorbed fools who quickly find they have no friends.

"sorry", to me, can't be a bad word, reversely it creates an atmosphere of politeness when said.

I know of people who think that saying "sorry" is a sign of weakness.  I don't agree with them; I think they are completely wrong, that saying you are sorry when you truly are sorry is actually a hard thing to do sometimes and takes strength.

I do not know anyone who thinks that sorry is a "bad" word.

Some people overuse the word and say "sorry" in response to any sort of criticism, and there are people who would consider it "bad" to always respond that way, but it isn't about the word.  It is about the insecurity shown by the person through the overuse of the word.  And even then, it isn't bad so much as not good, the person ought to be more self-assured.

To me it isn't so much a bad word as it is just an over used word that people use so they can say they have appologized if needed. There rarely is any emotion or meaning behind it, basically it is just used so that the person who did something wrong can get on with their day.

With all these words you think are bad, I think you need to see a shrink. You seem to fear saying the wrong the things
