Just let her rest for now; but, if she gets nauseous call her doctor. Sometimes a really big upchuck can cause one to become dehydrated (infants also) not to scare you, just to be careful.He will know what to give her if nausea lasts longer than a day or so. Let tummy rest and heal and get better as long as she is taking fluids for a day or so, then try the dry saltine crackers and a bit of chicken noodle soup/the old remedy still works, just a bit/they are both salty and will make her thirsty (which is good for now/watch salt later) and the saltine will absorb some of the acid in the stomach and ginger ale/the kind made with real ginger. She can learn how to make ginger tea later if she wishes.  Don't give her any juice/too acidic for tummy/ (only apple diluted with some water at first) and try to get her to mix 3/4 water and 1/4 gatorade and gradually go up. Get the no sugar kind.Sometimes big amounts of sugar can upset tummy. Put liquid in a cup with a lid and straw and let it sit in the crook of her arm, lay on her side and let her take baby sips gradually to stay hydrated kind of like a homemade IV. As she begins to get better (if possible) some light wafers like vanilla wafers or even animal crackers with whatever she wants to drink while still in bed. Go slow and give tummy time to work in the right way. Nix the vitamins for a few days and talk to dr. about substituting regular vitamins (even the gummies) for a while.  I know baby needs good stuff; but, those vitamins have enough iron in them to choke a horse. My dr. had to substitute mine and later on she may have to take the regular vitamins/ gummies for kids if she likes and add the (over the counter) timed slow release iron tablet that she can take to get the extra iron. Slow-Fe. Ask pharmacist if she can cut them in half and take one half twice a day. Doctors don't know everything. Sometimes good ole common sense or a good friend that has had three children works/a sensible one, not a drama queen.  Always-if possible-take any meds with food. Have food in stomach and coat tablet with pudding or I like the baby food fruits and they have iron in them. Good for in between snacks and low calorie.(I have had a bad stomach for years) As for breasts, they will become tender as skin stretches as it grows. There are many lotions on the market for this (ask your pharmacist) or cocoa butter to prevent stretch marks as tummy skin grows also/yes if breasts get really big they can have stretch marks however; she I think, I did, would enjoy a good tender massage with plenty of the above and tummy too; but, don't let her think it's for appearance but to make her feel better/special. Maybe later--remember everyone is different-but as she lays down for the night and relaxes and especially with a good massage as baby starts to grow /he/she will just stretch getting ready for nighty night .  She needs some babying too.  Her body is going thru tremendous changes right now and she is probably a bit scared although she might not tell you and the laying in bed/which probably is tired as changes in her body start/or could be a lop-sided way to ask for some extra attention and it will be good for you as you enjoy this time together. Women want babies; but, when they get pg for some it's scary---there's a creacchture in there--- Some women do overdo it, just go slow. You need it too being a first time father. Babies don't come with directions.  Tell her to be easy on herself and you relax. She will be able to sense your nervousness.  So many first time mothers have listened to other women and everyone does not have to be Mother Superior/like some would have it seem. They can unknowingly make a new Mother feel overly nervous or abnormal if she doesn't do everything like they did. Well, there is a different right thing for every person, no one is the same. And don't listen to the "horror" delivery stories. It's only muscles contracting to push baby out and won't last forever (however; don't take to heart anything she says or calls you during labor). It's the way God intended and with every Mother.

It's normal. Let her rest cause she's going to nd it! Have y'all call and made the 1st prenatal appointment. If not call obgyn to schedule first appointment. They probably her to come in at 8wks to do sonogram and give a due date and she hear baby heartbeat. Go to store get her prenatal vitamins to take one everyday. Try giving her crackers to eat and a little apple juice. It probably help her feel a little better. Also she nds to eat six meals a day instead of 3 big meals. Just make the three into six meals that way it be smaller portions. Eat lite, not heavy. She may start having gas!! I know I'm having a lot of it cause muscles in stomach going to start to relax. Her breast are going to be really sore. Congratulations

She really should discuss this with her obstetrician, who can determine how serious her case is and how best to deal with it.  It won't hurt her to lie around in bed for a while, but she should try to find some foods that she can tolerate reasonably well.

If she is experiencing all-day nausea, that's something she must discuss with her doctor.

Edit:  Unless she's constantly vomiting, in which case, she will need emergency treatment, she can just rest for a couple of weeks. Again, though, she needs to try to find some foods she can tolerate. Crackers of various kinds tend to be helpful.
