Has anyone here ever performed brain surgery on an old iPad?
When I say "OLD" I mean a very early one that won't update beyond IOS version 5.1.
I've had one for years.
It will still let me email but just about nothing else.
So, I figured to take it apart one day and see what's in it.
The battery still charges reasonably well too.
So, if anyone did, what tools are best to open it without doing too much damage and is there anything special that I need to watch out for while doing it?
Oh yes, did you get it back together again without having spare screws etc?

I had a go doing it, trying to fix the battery which wouldn’t charge anymore.
Ended up giving it to my boyfriend mate who pulled it to bits for a science project.
Don’t know if he made anything out of the bits though.

Don’t waste your time, nothing much that you can really do with them unless you are an electronics “geek”!

Not worth the bother mate unless you are just interested in what’s inside.
If you are one of these guys who can fabricate something entirely new out of the bits, go ahead.
Otherwise, you will have a job putting it back together again!
