If spark plug spec is .027inches and I use .026 will it make a difference?

    No.

    It will increase with use anyway.

    What kind of car has a .027" inch gap anyway?  Cars long ago used to be .035" and increased with the high energy ignition systems to .045" or more (mid 1970s and after).

    You get a spark plug gauge that will widen the gap another .001 inch.  If the plug is platinum or iridium, leave it alone.

    That is about 1/3 the thickness of a hair. No difference.

    No, if in a car engine. That's a very small gap. What engine is it, a model airplane? The bigger the gap, the higher spark voltage is needed.

    No.  It's only 1/1000 of an inch.

    No that will be fine. In any case as the gap erodes in use  it will match the recommended size.
