Should a 16-year-old be taking prazosin (Minipress)?

I keep reading on multiple different sources that it is not approved for use for people under 18. Is this true?

Update:

And if anyone knows any other information about it, that would be great too. Thanks!

Prazosin is a blood pressure medication and normally it is for adults. It is not as common for BP as some other BP medications.

However, in the mental health world, it is also used for PTSD (nightmares, sleep disruption) for adolescents (preteens and older).

the internet has lots of information...

Prazosin is used alone or in combination with other medications to treat high blood pressure. Prazosin is in a class of medications called alpha-blockers. It works by relaxing the blood vessels so that blood can flow more easily through the body.
