What is "Cancel culture"?
Please forgive my ignorance.
I am British but live in Australia.
I keep seeing this term all over the place but have no idea as to its meaning.
Is it something peculiar to America or like the CORVID beast, is it likely to attack me when I am not looking?

In the U.K. it is snowflakes cancelling our history. Every historic person seems to have been a slave trader, they have torn down statues. Pubs called black boy all have to be renamed even if the boy was a chimney sweep or worked in the mines. They are trying to cancel our past.

Cancel culture is when people stop supporting you because of something that you have done. Basically, not being a fans of someone anymore or unfollowing them. Cancel culture aims to make someone famous become irrelevant because of a horrible thing or maybe a scandal that they are involved in.

'Cancel culture' is a new phenomenon where groups of people will 'petition' social media platforms to have an offensive content provider removed. It is done primarily to remove someone who produces exceptionally offensive things like racism, sexual abuse, child abuse or other subjects like that. I have no issue with cancel culture, as long as it is used correctly, but now it is being used by groups of people who just want to see a content creator removed for their own personal agenda, as in they don't like the content creator, or want to remove competition to promote a similar creator.
