If this was a pre-built computer system (not one that you built yourself, from parts) then the factory probably hi-jacked the first 200GB or more of disk space for a recovery partition.  Windows itself only takes about 15GB of disk space, but it's not uncommon for hundreds of GB of bloatware to be installed on a brand new computer.  Then to add insult to injury, the factory will reserve 20-40% of your disk space for a recovery partition so if you manage to screw up your system, you can RESTORE all the bloatware easily.

Two thoughts:  If that is a spinning platter hard drive, slap yourself.  A ryzen 7 computer booting off mechanical hard drive is like a Lambo fitted with retreads.

Also, if this was a pre-built system, then you DID wipe out the original configuration with a format, and installed windows 10 clean.  RIGHT?!?!?!?

I know that purchasing a pre-built system is cheaper now, due to outrageously over-priced components like video cards and power supplies in particular.  But to NOT format the hard drive of a brand new computer and manually install a clean copy of Windows 10 is lazy and irresponsible...

Replying to mike:). Before the pandemic hit had to spare $ monthly to buy upgrades pieces bit by bit. From Ryze 3 to Ryze 7 is a big jump. The Ryze 3 was a gift with windows 7 installed, so once i upgraded to Ryze 7 their only concern was the windows code key which I didn't have so I bought Windows 10 along with the other upgrades with Ryze 7 & Motherboard.

So does it seem like i have old threads from Window 8.1 or 7?
