a.
Rolling an odd number (could be {1,3,5}) OR rolling an even number {(2,4,6)} are mutually exclusive. Because to be mutually excusive must be:
i) No elements in common. In fact
If it is odd can't be even, that means {1,3,5} ∩ {2,4,6} = Ø OK.
ii) The union cover all the possibilities. that's {1,3,5} U {2,4,6} = {1,2,3,4,5,6} OK.b. Rolling a 3 {3} OR rolling a even number {(2,4,6)} are NOT mutually exclusive. In fact:
i) No elements in common.
{3} ∩ {2,4,6} = Ø OK.
ii) The union cover all the possibilities.
This is no true. the set {2,3,4,6} is lacking of number 1 and also number 5.
