Do I need a car in Redding, CA?

Or would walking and relying 

on the bus be enough? Thanks.

    Redding is "the big city" for pretty much anything north of Chico.

    Redding is a town that is very spread out.

    I can't imagine buses being very effective there.

    I had to laugh. Buses in California???? There are a few- but they are unlikely to go where you want to go when you want to go there. Google info on public transportation in Redding, but I.can tell you that walkers are considered highly suspicious in California unless they are hiking in the hills.
