Is this F1  season being run with the new revolutionery cars and rules?

I saw a quick glimpse of the carson an add for the forthcoming new season, and did notice the cars looked slightly different

and a few weeks ag i was reading that a revamp of the regulations was coming, the biggest change being that present cars lose alot of downforce while closely following another repuedly 40% or so,  and this is supposed to be being reduced to something like 5%, thx to aerodynamic redesigns......but is this the season or is this new standard coming in the following season?

i know i could check but it's just as easy to ask the question..
