The Resurrection Hope?

Is this hope real to you?  Imagine the joy of seeing your loved ones again in the future, this is a real hope based on God’s word. John 5:28-29

There will always be skeptics who say it’s a myth; however, the four gospels bear witness to the resurrection of Jesus.  Also, before his death, Jesus performed resurrections, the most remembered one being Lazarus

So what are you thoughts on the resurrection?

God's word records 9 resurrections, one of which was the resurrection of Jesus.

Peter helps us understand the importance of this resurrection.

(1 Peter 1:3) “3 Praised be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, for according to his great mercy he gave us a new birth to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,”

The resurrection of Christ provides us with the assurance that God accepted the ransom sacrifice of Jesus.

(Acts 17:31) “31 Because he has set a day on which he purposes to judge the inhabited earth in righteousness by a man whom he has appointed, and he has provided a guarantee to all men by resurrecting him from the dead.””

Adam brought sin and death into the world, Jesus the 'last Adam' brings eternal life to men.

(1 Corinthians 15:22) “22 For just as in Adam all are dying, so also in the Christ all will be made alive. . .”

(1 Corinthians 15:45) “45 So it is written: “The first man Adam became a living person.” The last Adam became a life-giving spirit.”

Why is the resurrection so important?

Because it is by means of the resurrection, the dead become alive again.

Jesus tells us the dead are asleep in the grave.

God tells us the dead know nothing and are unconscious in the grave.

For the dead to life again, there must be a resurrection, a standing up.

Some will be resurrected to heaven (a little flock) but the mass majority will return to live on a paradise earth, where pain, suffering and death will be no more.

Jesus died on the cross and walked out of the tomb on Sunday morning.  Because of his resurrection, believers have the same hope of resurrection.  Through his death, he brought deliverance from sin.  Through his resurrection, he brought deliverance from death.

It most certainly is real and I know my late wife will live again, she died faithful to Jehovah and me and witnessed until she lost her ability to do so due to the cancer she was riddled with killed her, none of the doctors, nurses or carers could understand why she was always happy despite the toll of terminal cancer.I do

It is our full salvation,  without it, there would be no eternal life

The Scriptures speak of only two possibilities for the dead the temporary state of nonexistence and the state of eternal death.

Jesus will have a role in judging the living and the dead, God is the final Judge.

He will never resurrect those whom he judges to be wicked and unwilling to change.

Those who willfully sinned against God’s holy spirit, or active force, by unrepentantly acting contrary to its manifestation or leadings will not be resurrected. Of course, God will decide who sinned in that way.

However, since God is the Judge, there is no reason for us to try to figure out whether certain wicked people in the past or in modern times will be resurrected or not. God knows who is in the grave and who is in Gehenna.

There is a "resurrection body" promised to the faithful, Philippians 3:20-21, 1 Cor. 15.  Therefore there must be a resurrection, "That like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.", Romans 6:4.
