How many gods did Paul believe exists?
NASB: 1Co 8:5 For even if there are so-called gods whether in heaven or on earth, as indeed there are many gods and many lords,
Paul says there are 'so-called gods [false gods]' and then states there are actually many [real] gods'
In verse 6 he contrasts those [real] gods from the only true God, the Father.
So how many gods did Paul believe exists?
Psalms 82:6 I [God] said, "You are gods, And all of you are sons of the Most High.

6 AnswersReligion & Spirituality3 days agoSince God says 'you are gods'. ~ Are you are a god? or Are you a false god? ?
NASB: Psalms 82:6 I [God] said, "You are gods, And all of you are sons of the Most High.
This isn't a difficult question, a yes and no will work.
After stating 'yes or no', please feel free to explain why you answered why you did.
As to the Anon troll, who cowardly keeps reporting this question. What part of this question don't you like?
I make no mention of my beliefs, only clarification of those who have danced around the question.

9 AnswersReligion & Spirituality5 days agoAt 2 Cor 4:4. Do you believe Paul when he wrote 'Satan is the god of this world'? So is Satan a god? ?
Or how about Jesus, do you believe Jesus when he quoted the Law?
“. . .in your Law, ‘I said: “You are gods”’. . .” (John 10:34)
Are human rulers and judges gods?
Or when Paul said:“. . .and their god is their belly, . . .” (Philippians 3:19)
Can our belly be a god?
Neither Paul or Jesus calls these false gods, why because the term god basically means: "mighty one" H410 "El"
Satan is a mighty one, our rulers are mighty ones, our belly can be a mighty one.
So if Satan is a god, our bellies are gods, our rulers are gods, how many gods do you believe exist?
Paul tells us "as indeed there are many gods and many lords". 1Co8:5
According to Paul and Jesus, how many gods do you believe in?
How many gods do you worship?

32 AnswersReligion & Spirituality2 weeks agoFor those who believe the heavens and the earth are to be literally destroyed . . . ?
How do you explain:
(Genesis 8:21, 22) “21 And Jehovah began to smell a pleasing aroma. So Jehovah said in his heart: “Never again will I curse the ground on man’s account, for the inclination of the heart of man is bad from his youth up; and never again will I strike down every living thing as I have done. 22 From now on, the earth will never cease to have seed-sowing and harvest, cold and heat, summer and winter, and day and night.””
(Ecclesiastes 1:4) “ 4 A generation is going, and a generation is coming, But the earth remains forever.”
(Proverbs 2:21, 22) “21 For only the upright will reside in the earth, And the blameless will remain in it. 22 As for the wicked, they will be cut off from the earth, And the treacherous will be torn away from it.”
Even Peter tells us it was the 'world of the ungodly' who are destroyed at the flood.
Peter tells us the 1st heaven and earth were destroyed by water and yet we are still living on the same planet, and looking at the same nightly sky Adam and Eve saw. What changed was the "expanse between the waters".

9 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 month agoFor those who believe the KJV is THE perfect, THE only correct inspired English translation, do you still worship your dinner guests?
Luke 14:10 But when thou art bidden, go and sit down in the lowest room; that when he that bade thee cometh, he may say unto thee, Friend, go up higher: then shalt thou have worship in the presence of them that sit at meat with thee.

When was the last time you called someone 'Raca'?
Matt 5:22 But I say unto you, That whosoever is angry with his brother without a cause shall be in danger of the judgment: and whosoever shall say to his brother, Raca, shall be in danger of the council: but whosoever shall say, Thou fool, shall be in danger of hell fire.
Remember if the KJV is perfect, you must believe exactly what it says.
7 AnswersReligion & Spirituality4 months agoJehovah s Witnesses and others: Which translators are correct? The ASV or NASB?
American Standard Version:
In the foreword of that translation state: “the American Revisers, after a careful consideration, were brought to the unanimous conviction that a Jewish superstition, which regarded the Divine Name as too sacred to be uttered, ought no longer to dominate in the English or any other version of the Old Testament, as it fortunately does not in the numerous versions made by modern missionaries. This Memorial Name, explained in Ex. iii. 14, 15, and emphasized as such over and over in the original text of the Old Testament, designates God as the personal God, as the covenant God, the God of revelation, the Deliverer, the Friend of his people;—not merely the abstractly ‘Eternal One’ of many French translations, but the ever living Helper of those who are in trouble. This personal name [Jehovah], with its wealth of sacred associations, is now restored to the place in the sacred text to which it has an unquestionable claim.”
OR
NASB foreword states:
"There is yet another name which is particularly assigned to God as His special or proper name, this the four letters YHWH [Ex3:14 & Isa 42:8] This name has not been pronounced by the Jews because of reverence for the great sacredness of the divine nae. Therefore, it has been consistently translated LORD"

(Ephesians 1:20-23) 20 which he exercised toward Christ when he raised him up from the dead and seated him at his right hand in the heavenly places, 21 far above every government and authority and power and lordship and every name that is named, not only in this system of things but also in that to come. 22 He also subjected all things under his feet and made him head over all things with regard to the congregation, 23 which is his body, the fullness of him who fills up all things in all.

(Matthew 21:43) “43 This is why I say to you, the Kingdom of God will be taken from you and be given to a nation producing its fruits. . .”
(1 Peter 2:7-10) “7 It is to you, therefore, that he is precious, because you are believers; but to those not believing, “the stone that the builders rejected, this has become the chief cornerstone” 8 and “a stone of stumbling and a rock of offense.” They are stumbling because they are disobedient to the word. To this very end they were appointed. 9 But you are “a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for special possession, that you should declare abroad the excellencies” of the One who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light. 10 For you were once not a people, but now you are God’s people; once you had not been shown mercy, but now you have received mercy.”

14 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 year agoWhy don't trinitarians understand the difference between honoring and worshiping?
To honor doesn't mean to worship.
Whereas to worship includes honoring.
John 5:23 doesn't say we are to worship Jesus.
It says we are to honor Jesus.
Yet trinitarians will argue to honor is to worship.

9 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 year agoWhat is the difference between, Cannot sin and did not sin? Cannot sin and without sin?
(Hebrews 4:15) “For we do not have a high priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who has been tested in all respects as we have, but without sin.”
Does God word, say, Jesus cannot sin or could not sin; or does it say, he did not sin or would not sin?
Think about it:
If one cannot fail a test, then it isn't a test.
And if it wasn't a text, then Jesus wasn't tested.
12 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 year agoWhom do you follow? Plato said, 'God is so great he doesn't need a name' Jesus said, 'I have made your name known.'?
Titles such as Lord, Almighty, and even God, are not personal names.
At best they are common names.
Whereas God tells us:
(Exodus 3:15) “15 Then God said once more to Moses: “This is what you are to say to the Israelites, ‘Jehovah the God of your forefathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, has sent me to you.’ This is my name forever,. . .”
