What am I doing wrong with my bonsai? Does it need moss?
I got the bonsai with moss a little dry.. I got the moss all moist and it seemed healthy, so I kept the plant inside beside a window, and the plant looked like it was dying after a week or two... So I put it outside to get full sun (it usually gets hot around here), and the plant looks healthy but the moss is completely dried up no matter how much water I use...
So does the bonsai need the moss..? What am I doing wrong..?

Putting it in the sun is wrong. You might have killed it. It should have indirect sunlight only. I have two and they are about 6' and 8' from the window. Not on a window ledge beside the hot glass. I use orchid moss for orchids only, not in a bonsai. I've never seen a bonsai with moss. Care: Do not let it dry out. I have a large one that I water about every 3 weeks. My small one - every week. Water thoroughly in the sink. Let the water flow through the bottom. Do not let it sit in water. Fertilize from time to time. I think they say monthly but I don't do it that often.

The moss is just decorative.
Bonsai do usually need very frequent watering, though, as they have so few roots and such a small amount of soil to hold water.
