Is it rude to ask the host of a party to loan you money?

Yeah you know my boy Barry is having his annual spring bbq and because of COVID he's keeping to less than 30 people. I was lucky enough to get one of those invites and you know I want to express my gratitude by bringing some food or some beers. I'm a little short on cash right now, so would it be rude for me to ask Barry to loan me $20 so I can pick up some stuff on the way?

Ask someone else fora temporary loan.

Barry has enough expenses to entertain and feed 30 people.

Besides, Barry may feel uneasy that he invited someone to his party that can not afford the beer to bring to the party.

Put it on a credit card and don't ask the host to pay for his own gift.

I just heard "my boy Joel" and "my boy Kyle" have plenty of money to pass around.  Ask one of them.

If you can't afford it, don't go. DON'T BORROW ANYTHING!

LOL. Troll score 7/10 with extra points for not posting anonymously like all the other halfwits. Good stuff! Love the "my boy Barry" part.
