Parquet flooring is any wood flooring arranged in geometic blocks, rather than side by side as with plank flooring.

It is squares of hardwood.  It doesn't look very good.  It went out of style (with good reason) in about the 70s or 80s.

It is a wood flooring.  Think of wood tiles made of different types of wood glued together to make a wood tile that is then glued to the floor.  It is an older style of flooring, and may have to be hand made to arrange the wood variations. If a more modern flooring is used, such as a laminate, it could be a photographic image of the wood that is in a vinyl laminate that is glued to particle board.  When it comes to flooring you best choice is to eliminate all the seams as much as possible.  That means wide flooring, such as Armstrong vinyl sheet flooring.   Think of it as tiles that are 12 feet wide.

Mosaic of wooden pieces, laid as flooring. A very common arrangement is wooden block laid in a herringbone pattern.

Inlaid wood tiles, it's beautiful, but it's horrible to maintain.
