Stimulus dillema?
I’m so pissed off. I filed my 2020 taxes this year as an independent, as did my two other friends, yet everyone I go online to the IRS website to check my refund status it says not available, yet my two other friends just got there stimulus TODAY, as well as got the ones from last year they missed out on due to being claimed as a dependent for 2019 as a rebate credit. I don’t understand how I’m any different; why am I not getting ANYTHING. Every time I try to call the irs they are busy and I don’t know what to do. I could use that money :(

It depends on when you filed, if you e-filed or filed on paper, etc. Not all the stimulus payments went out at the same time. Most refunds are issued within 3 weeks, but they've been delayed by the stimulus payments. If you filed on paper, you'll be waiting a long time due to the backlog. BTW if you filed as a non-dependent just so you could claim the stimulus when you really are a dependent, you could be in for some interesting mail from the IRS later on.

You should be more pissed off that the government decided to spend $3.1 trillion on aid packages instead of working to get people to work and the economy back.
- March 2020 stimulus we didn't know any better. For sure we were aware in Dec 2020 and March 2021.
Enjoy the $1400 (or $3200) because that is not going to remotely cover the increased taxes you are going to spend over your lifetime paying for this aid!!!
Your taxes get processed when your taxes get processed. Be pissed off about it. That won't change anything. Bother the IRS, if you want. That won't change anything. They will simply tell you that your taxes will process when they are processed. If you are eligible for the stimulus payments, you will eventually get them.
Most tax returns process within 3 weeks. If they aren't processed within 16 weeks, they IRS will pay you interest on your refund.
