    dark? Cold? salty? Oxygen-depleted? high pressure.

    I would not say VERY cold or salty.  it is cold, but not VERY cold.  It is definitely dark, extremely dark, beyond very to absolutely.  But I suspect very strongly if you use "dark", you will be marked wrong even if it is absolutely true.
