How can we know for sure that the COVID vaccines are safe?

Have you ever seen anyone contract a terminal disease from ANY of the 26 vaccines in use in the USA?

You are more likely to die in a car crash and yet you get into a car without worrying about it.

Everything in life has some element of risk.  More than half a million dead and many more with long-term conditions from Covid.    The vaccine is a no-brainer when it comes to risk-reward.

You already selected a 'Favorite Answer' but I'm going to chime in with this: I mistrust most of the folks who are fervently against the Covid vaccine(s) more than I mistrust the vaccine itself.

I got the 1st dose of the Moderna vaccine yesterday and have the 2nd dose scheduled for about a month. I feel fine (arm is sore) but I feel good about having been vaccinated.

I'm wondering why you posted this under personal finance instead of the health forum. 

When the vaccines are considered "safe" - it only means that people most people don't get sick or die from the vaccines immediately.

There has been no long term testing.  We have no idea what the long term safety of them is.

Additionally, there wasn't nearly enough testing to determine how safe.

Almost all testing was done on healthy 40-54 year old. 

The individuals that are dying within 3 weeks of the vaccines from high blood pressure related conditions, it's premature to say they were  or weren't caused by the vaccines.  There was no control group testing.

You need to evaluate your covid risks and determine if taking the vaccine or not is better for you.

If the government/vaccine companies really thought there was no potential down side to the vaccines, we wouldn't have granted immunity from lawsuits.

These are synthetic vaccines.  They're safer than the polio vaccines I got when I was a kid.  Trust that the inventors, manufacturers, and review boards did their jobs.
